late in the life of the Cosmonaut website, there was a post that some post-Pipebomb Full of Nails demos/recordings were soon to be posted/shared...I think they were just instrumental tracks w/o Brent, tho. Anyone ever get a hold of these? They should be put here on the Temple :) --- end of previous message ---

Cosmonaut (2002-2005?)

This album is for sale, both CD and MP3 Versions, at CDBABY - COSMONAUT PAGE.

Here is there bio-y bio from CDBABY

Two assholes from Lansing (Jamesen's Brian George and Josh Stacey) met another from Grand Rapids (Veronica Speedwell's Rodney Johnson), and schemed about a rock-band; but they didn't have a singer. The aforementioned contacted an asshole from Kalamazoo (Thought Industry's Brent Oberlin). The Michigan quartet named the group Cosmonaut after minutes of heated debate. Much history occurred prior to this "forming", but has mercifully been omitted for the sake of good meter and reader attention. What can I say? Rock-bios are boring. 2004 brings "Pipebomb Full of Nails", Cosmonaut's debut release on Ann Arbor's Swollen Lip Records. With song titles like "National Geographic Lovesong" and "The Orient is Red", this pissed-off Indie-rock platter is mmm-good.

well, as i wrote: if i had the money (which means so much money, it wouldnt make any difference to me) i'd do it. since im a poor fucker: no chance.

and pressing single vinyl records is waaaaaay too nerdy and too expensive as well. no record is worth over 100 bucks. ;-)

In response to: Jef on 08-18-08 for Cosmonaut

For $109, you can a have a single vinyl record pressed.customrecords.com

that would be certainly cheaper than starting a label and selling that one copy to yourself

man, what can i say about this album? this is like one of the best rock albums released in the last couple of years, no doubt about it.

i would like to avoid the usual jibberish about why this album is so great because of this and that reason. i just wanna show the band my full appreciation, respect and, most important, my enthusiasm for this piece of gold they created.

if i had the money, i really would like to start a label and release this one on vinyl, even though it would be for sure that noone would buy it anyway. at least i could add this one to my collection ;-).

thanks for the great music.

Great album. Brent reappeared and then disappeared just as fast.
